"Prior to purchasing our automated glass lines, we were manually assembling insulated glass units. This required a lot of manual lifting, moving, and repetition for 9 team members on each of our manual IG lines. We were able to minimize glass handling to only 2 team members per line and one grid installer. One high speed line replaced approximately 75 percent of the production from each manual system, with only 33 percent of the staff. So, we gained a 50 percent increase in production while maintaining only 67 percent of staffing by installing 2 high speed Erdman lines and removing one manual line. The automated high-speed lines also give us a more consistent finished IG with better quality 4th corner, seal, and less handling (so less chances for fingerprints, dirt, etc. inside the IG.) Our team members went from laborers to machine operators, making their jobs less physical. We also replaced all our manual and hand assist wet glazing with Erdman XY tables that apply a consistent bead of sealant in our sash, operating panels, and fixed frames. This improved the quality of our glazing while also helping us to line balance our processes. Erdman Automation has been a great partner to our business and is always willing to support their machines. From their leaders to their install techs, they answer our call every time and help us resolve any issues that may arise. They are also willing to hear what they can do to address our equipment needs, rather than telling us what we need."

"I want to thank Erdman’s project coordination team for your efforts throughout the project and furthermore give credit to the entire Erdman team for the established processes that have been created and implemented within your operation from sell to delivery. From a customer perspective, and one with several other large equipment investments currently in process, your team has made it the easiest. Your team truly understands the value of communication."

“I’ve bought equipment from a number of vendors over the years and Erdman has, by far, been the best to deal with and has been the only vendor to deliver complicated gear that just works on startup without having to turn wrenches and troubleshoot components.”

"The Automated Parallel Process Duralite IG line has given us a huge advantage in an area with a very low unemployment rate. We have been able to shift a significant amount of labor into more critical thinking tasks. We can accomplish what we do on one of our standard goal post lines (12 employees, 10 hour shift) with 4 employees in an 8hour shift on the Erdman Automation line.
SAM or the “Swiggle Application Machine”, which is the part of the machine that automatically applies the Duralite, also lowers the amount of soft tissue wrist injuries by decreasing the amount of repetitive tasks needed to be done by employees.
The ink jet printer allows us to stamp the spacer system as opposed to etching the glass with a laser or sand. By utilizing this technique we can greatly minimize any obstructions to the sight line or view of the window panes.
The argon filling chambers have also lowered our costs as they fill more efficiently than any of our previous methods.
The unique industry heating methods allow for immediate sealing of the units which increases our quality control and leads to a better product for our customers.
The final press has an application of even pressure, as an alternative to the standard tapered roll press, which we feel adds to the quality of the units."

“The experience of the designing of the equipment was second to none after having worked with several other equipment manufactures I would have to say that Erdman Automation sets the bar. From the sales team to the technicians the concern for the end result and me as the customer was impressive.
One of the paramount concerns for me when looking for new IG equipment was to move away from European equipment. Not that there is anything wrong with the European equipment it’s just that it’s comforting to be able to deal with technicians during business hours and if we need a bearing or an electrical component it is much more easily accessible. The equipment has performed flawlessly it runs consistent and with built in remote access direct to the Erdman technicians we have little to no down time and been able to produce with 3 people what we had to have 7 before to get the same through put. The installation was seamless, the equipment showed up on time and the installation went ahead of schedule which allowed the technicians more time to spend with my people for training on running and maintaining the equipment. A special note has to be made to Jeff Pollard his ability to customize the program to directly suit our system was incredible.” Darren Bannister Extreme Windows and Entrance Systems |
“NT Window, like any other rapidly growing window company, needs to stay on the cutting edge of what is available in today’s market that meets our manufacturing equipment needs. Our decision to purchase the Erdman 7000 series IG secondary sealer has removed our biggest obstacle for growth while dramatically improving the quality of our glass units. It easily allowed us to increase our IG production from 400 units in 8 hours to 600 plus with no additional personnel. This coupled with the addition of the Erdman 6 by 8 Hand Assist Glazer for hot melt back bedding, has improved our ability to process “Texas Sized” Single Hung and Picture Windows with minimal green time between glazing and transport. Your installation technicians Jeff Pollard and Pat Egan were both friendly and exceptionally professional, removing our old equipment and installing the new systems in less than 48 hours with minimal disruption and down time. Thanks!”

“The reason I chose to go Erdman was because of how user friendly the machines are. Erdman exceeded my expectations so much that after ordering one Erdman Hand Assist, I decided to order another one to replace a Besten machine that we had. It was a good decision.” Roger Cosmyk, Superior Engineered Products |
“I contacted Erdman because we were introducing a new product line. After Erdman reviewed our requirements, we worked together to develop a Hand Assist system that worked for both our inline and offline requirements. We experienced one of the smoothest start-ups we have ever encountered with a new process that included no less than six new pieces of equipment added to our existing production line. My experience working with the Erdman team was outstanding. Everyone and I mean everyone was committed to achieving the challenge we presented, but what was truly impressive was that Erdman did all this in half the time frame that others had quoted!” Rick Green, Pella Corporation |
“Our company wanted a more efficient application system to improve our production volume capabilities with a keen balance to quality. Erdman proposed an excellent designed vertical glazing system that in preliminary studies greatly improved our product tact times with a consistent application of hot melt sealant each time no matter what the variables of product mix was or who operated the machine. Our company equipped all window lines with these machines increasing our production output by nearly 30% with much improved quality to our end product.” Coby Jones, Peerless Products |
